How does non-coeliac wheat sensitivity differ from coeliac disease? Is gluten the only culprit for causing gastrointestinal and other symptoms? Can people with non-coeliac wheat sensitivity and coeliac disease consume oats? Learn all this and more in our latest podcast episode with Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and gluten-free nutrition specialist, Dr Kim Faulkner-Hogg. Using a real-life case study and her 30 years of experience in the area, Kim also explains gluten’s involvement in autoimmune conditions, the steps for deciding whether a gluten free diet is the best approach and how dietitians can advocate for their patient’s quality of life.

The Mediterranean diet has become one of the most popular and well-researched diets with a wide range of health benefits. New research now suggests that positive changes to the gut microbiome may contribute to improved outcomes related to cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, and aging. In this episode of Dietitian to Dietitian, NBC’s Today Show nutrition and health expert Joy Bauer, Professor Hannah Holscher, PhD, RD and culinary nutrition expert and chef Abbie Gellman, MS, RD, CDN, discuss how the Mediterranean diet can impact the gut microbiome – as well as how to teach your clients and patients to eat this way. You don’t want to miss this fascinating discussion – based around research and recipes – pertaining to the Mediterranean eating style.

Janeane Dart is a dietitian making waves in student education thanks to her work and studies in professionalism (read: not perfectionism!). In this podcast, Janeane shares how her ‘unplanned’ career was inspired by a chance encounter with a dietitian whose food, cooking and health knowledge left a lasting impression. Fast forward 30 years, Janeane is heavily invested in shaping the future of the dietetic profession through our core dietetic tool -  communication. Tune into this fascinating chat to hear Janeane’s thoughts on fostering reflexivity and why normalising momentary lapses in professionalism is essential for our growth and development.

When Brady Schulz prepared a business plan for a university assignment back in 2006, he never thought by 2023 that same business plan would come to fruition in a very successful way. Along with his team of 40 skilled dietitians, exercise physiologists, diabetes educators, allied health assistants and admin staff, Brady has provided over 80,000 consultations and 525,000 occasions of allied health services – and counting! In this podcast, Brady explains why his combination of skills in exercise physiology and dietetics has been invaluable to helping people change their lifestyle.
